About the Opportunity
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the warehouse, including but not limited to supervising the team, monitoring inventory levels, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and coordinating with other departments. The Warehouse Supervisor will also assist in the development and implementation of warehouse policies and procedures. This is a hands on role within the warehouse and having the ability to jump in and assist the team is essential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Co-ordinate the daily team operations of the warehouse and staff to ensure that all tasks are allocated and completed in a safe, timely, and efficient manner
Support recruitment activities, coordinate training and rostering, and provide day-to-day guidance and feedback to warehouse team members
Communicate and liaise with other departments to coordinate shipments, resolve issues, and maintain positive working relationships
Lead the team with stock take and inventory control activities
Ensure that all administrative tasks and duties are completed accurately and within the required timeframe
Conducting daily safety checks
Monitor inventory levels and ensure accuracy through regular stock checks and reconciliation
Administer and manage cycle counts
Identify, investigate and correct stock location discrepancies.
What You Bring
Minimum 2 years' experience in a warehouse supervisory or team leadership role
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, with a solid understanding of goods receiving and inventory systems
Possession of a forklift ticket / license essential
Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly advantageous
Inventory management and stock control principles
Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP experience
Leadership and people management skills
Understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements
Knowledge of WHS legislation and safe warehousing practices
Strong organisational skills with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
Strong problem solving skills and physical capacity to undertake manual handling.
