We are currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual/s to fill a Clinical Nurse Specialist position, based within the Royal Perth Hospital's Emergency Department. There is 1.57 FTE available and this position can be filled via a permanent full-time or a permanent part-time appointment.
About the Role:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) - ED is responsible for overseeing patient flow and contributing to the delivery of quality patient care within their area of specialty. Covering two distinct portfolios of clinical standards and patient flow, the CNS works collaboratively to improve and promote desired outcomes for patients through the development of standards of practice, implementation of changes to clinical practice, initiating research and quality improvement activities; and the provision of a consolation service within their area of expertise/assigned area to all customers within the Hospital and Health Service. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants found suitable for this position may be considered for other ‘similar’ vacancies within EMHS and/or the wider WA public sector. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.

and improve the health and wellbeing of more than 828,000 Western
Australians in its catchment area.

tertiary, secondary and specialist health care services including
emergency and critical care, state trauma, elective and emergency
surgery, general medical, mental health, inpatient and outpatient
services, aged care, palliative care, rehabilitation and women’s,
children’s and neonates services.
The EMHS consists of the Royal Perth Hospital; Mt Lawley Hospital; Armadale Health Service; Bentley Health Service; Kalamunda Hospital; St John of God Midland Public Hospital and a range of community and population health services.
The Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) is Western Australia's longest-serving hospital and renowned for contributing to innovation and excellence in medical research and patient care. It is a 450-bed hospital, with an extensive range of services including Adult major trauma, complex and elective surgical care, highly specialised surgical services, tertiary mental health and specialist medical services.
