About the role
Data Officer - The Kirby Institute
About The Kirby Institute:
The Kirby Institute is a world-leading health research institute at UNSW Sydney. We work to eliminate infectious diseases, globally. Our specialisation is in developing health solutions for the most at-risk communities. Putting communities at the heart of our research, we develop tests, treatments, cures and prevention strategies that have the greatest chance of success.
Details of the role
Join a high-performing research environment where your expertise in clinical data management will directly support impactful health research.
The Data Officer is responsible for maintaining high-quality clinical and research data, including data cleaning, query resolution, data mapping, database design, development, testing and ongoing maintenance. The role will work predominantly with REDCap to support clinical data collection and study management, including the integration and transformation of data received from multiple sources such as spreadsheets, laboratory systems and other databases.
The position will also contribute to improving and streamlining data-management processes, including opportunities for automation, data transformation, reporting and integration between systems.
This role would particularly suit someone who enjoys working at the intersection of clinical data management and data engineering—designing robust clinical databases while also improving how data is ingested, transformed, validated, integrated and reported.
The role forms part of a larger team consisting of research coordinators, research assistants, trial managers, data analysts and investigators. The position reports to the Clinical Data Scientist and has no direct reports.
