Fire Door Technician – Experienced or Junior

We are looking for a Fire Door Technician to join our team.

We are open to either an experienced Fire Door Technician looking for their next long-term role, or a junior / tradesperson looking to learn the fire door industry.

For the right junior, no previous fire door experience is required. We are happy to provide training to someone who is reliable, hands-on and willing to learn.

The Role

Our work is predominantly fire door supply, installation, replacement and rectification across Sydney.

Your day-to-day work may include:

• Installation and replacement of fire doors

• Installation of fire-rated door frames

• Fitting door hardware including locks, closers and associated components

• Fire door repairs and rectification works

• Measuring and preparing doors for installation

• Reading job sheets, plans and specifications

• Working across a variety of commercial sites throughout Sydney

• Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and site presentation

• Collecting materials from warehouse/office

Experienced Applicants

For an experienced applicant, we are looking for someone who:

• Has previous fire door, door installation, carpentry or passive fire experience

• Is confident installing doors, frames and hardware

• Can work independently and manage their own jobs

• Has strong attention to detail

• Can problem-solve on site

• Takes pride in their workmanship

• Is reliable and communicates well with clients and the team

Relevant fire protection qualifications and experience will be highly regarded.

Junior Applicants

We are also interested in hearing from someone looking to build a career in the industry.

You don't need to already be a fire door technician. We're more interested in finding someone who:

• Is reliable and turns up on time

• Is willing to learn

• Enjoys hands-on work

• Has a good attitude and work ethic

• Is comfortable using tools

• Can follow instructions and work as part of a team

• Wants to develop a trade-based skill set and build a long-term career

Previous construction, carpentry, labouring or trade experience would be an advantage but isn't essential.

Requirements

• Current Australian driver's licence

• Construction White Card, or willingness to obtain one

• Ability to work across Sydney

• Full Australian working rights

• Professional and respectful attitude on site

• Experience on Tradify and Uptick

What We Offer

• Competitive salary based on experience

• Experienced technicians: approximately $90,000–$110,000 + super

• Junior applicants: salary based on age and experience

• Company vehicle for the appropriate applicant or a car allowance
