Solicitor - Commercial Litigation

Mackay is the services hub for the Bowen Basin mining industry, a thriving agricultural centre, and the gateway to the Whitsundays. Our firm, with over 20 professional and 20 support staff, has been serving this dynamic region for over 50 years. We work with a diverse range of clients locally, nationally, and interstate.

 About the Role:

We are looking for a solicitor to join our busy Commercial Litigation team. The team includes a Partner (an Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation), a Senior Associate, a Graduate Lawyer, and a dedicated group of legal assistants and paralegals.

This role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of commercial litigation and criminal law matters, including: 

• Mining Services Disputes

• Bankruptcy and Insolvency

• Business/Partnership Disputes

• Consumer Law

• Planning & Environment/Land Court matters

• General litigation in all State and Federal Courts

• Traffic matters

• Criminal law

You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced barristers and engage in your own court advocacy.

While the ideal candidate will have 2+ years post admission experience in commercial litigation, applicants who have any experience in litigation are encouraged to apply.
