Payroll Officer

Join the talented Finance team as a Payroll Officer This is a part time role, working 0.6 FTE (Monday to Wednesday) from our contemporary office is based in the Adelaide CBD, with option for hybrid working.  

This is an excellent opportunity to support in the integral functioning of Payroll for employees at Better Medical and assist with the daily operations to achieve Payroll objectives.

What you'll be doing

• Processing manual and automated payrolls, fortnightly (one cycle each week) for Better Medical employees

• Auditing fortnightly pay runs to check for errors and adjust as necessary

• Following up on timesheet approvals with senior staff to ensure payroll deadlines are met

• Managing payroll month-end disbursements

• Onboarding new employees from a payroll perspective, working closely with the People and Culture
  team

• Attending to employee enquiries and actioning any outcomes

What we're looking for

• Significant experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role

• Tertiary education in business, finance, accounting, Commerce or similar (preferred)

• Previous experience using Employment Hero Payroll and HR (preferred)

• Demonstrated experience in a Payroll environment and/or within broader Finance department

• Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Excel and other functions of Microsoft Office

• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

• Strong time management and organisational skills

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
