Coordinator - Stonnington Community Assist

Stonnington Community Assist has been supporting people in the Stonnington community for more than 50 years. We provide information, support, referrals and practical assistance to people experiencing hardship or vulnerability, helping connect them with the services and resources they need. 

We are seeking an experienced and community-minded Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operation of the service, support our volunteers, strengthen local partnerships and help ensure community members receive responsive, high-quality assistance. 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in community services who enjoys a varied role combining service delivery, volunteer coordination, stakeholder engagement, reporting and community development.

About the role

Reporting to Stonnington Community Assist’s Committee of Management, you will be responsible for:

• Coordinating the delivery of community information and support services
• Supporting and guiding volunteers in their work with community members
• Delivering direct client support where required
• Building and maintaining relationships with local organisations and stakeholders
• Promoting and advocating for the service within the community
• Collecting data and preparing reports for funding bodies and the Committee of Management
• Identifying and contributing to funding and grant opportunities
• Supporting the day-to-day operations of the service.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Relevant qualifications and/or experience in community services, social work, community development, welfare or a related field
• Experience providing information, support, referral or intake services to people experiencing hardship or vulnerability
• Experience coordinating, supervising or supporting volunteers, students or staff
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A commitment to social justice, inclusion and respectful service delivery
• Experience coordinating services within policy, funding and legislative requirements
• Strong administration and reporting skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office and digital systems
• Knowledge of community services and local support networks. 

Requirements

• A National Police Check will be completed
• Current Working with Children Check

Employment arrangements

This position is employed by Community Information & Support Victoria (CISVic) and works exclusively with Stonnington Community Assist in delivering services to the local community.
