About the Role:

PLC Sydney is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and dedicated educator to join our vibrant, dynamic Visual Arts team in a permanent, part-time (0.7 FTE) capacity commencing Term 1, 2027.

Our Visual Arts faculty is a dynamic team that models best practice by mentoring students to achieve individual artistic excellence within a rigorous, positive, and supportive learning environment. As a Visual Arts Teacher, you will inspire young women to explore their creative potential, develop critical thinking skills, and master technical art-making practices. You will deliver high-quality programs across secondary year groups in an environment equipped with state-of-the-art studio facilitioes and dedicated exhibition spaces.

Working with motivated and highly engaged students, you will deliver engaging, practical and theoretical Visual Arts programs, including the Mandatory NESA course. This is a unique opportunity to bring your passion for the arts, knowledge of traditional and contemporary art practices and teaching excellence to life in a passionate and well-resourced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver dynamic, inspiring and student-centred Visual Arts lessons across Stage 4 - Stage 6.
• Support the Visual Arts co-curricular program, including exhibition events and showcases in the Adelaide Perry Gallery.
• Foster a positive studio culture that values creative risk-taking, rigorous conceptual development, technical skill development, and promotes students' individual growth.
• Design engaging, high-quality learning materials and assessments that provide opportunities for all students to succeed.
• Work collaboratively within the faculty to foster academic excellence, collegiality, and share best practices.
• Engage in pastoral care and wellbeing activities.

Selection Criteria:

• Formal secondary teaching qualifications in Visual Arts and current NESA registration.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven record of creating an inclusive, high-performing classroom environment.
• Demonstrated success teaching Stage 4-6 Visual Arts across a range of artistic disciplines.
• Familiarity with the Visual Arts 2024 Stage 4 - 5 Syllabus, to be implemented in 2027.

You will be required to support the Christian ethos of the College.
