About the role
Ooma Enterprises is seeking an Accountant to join our team in North Sydney. This is a full-time position offering you the opportunity to provide essential accounting and bookkeeping support across our operations. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial integrity, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting the financial management of the business. This position is based in our North Sydney office, where you will work closely with all business stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records and prepare journal entries for various accounting transactions
Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
Prepare and maintain financial reports and statements in accordance with accounting standards
Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with taxation requirements
Assist with tax preparation and ensure timely lodgement of BAS, PAYG, tax credits and tax returns
Support budgeting and forecasting activities to aid financial planning
Maintain organised financial documentation and filing systems
Liaise with external accountants, auditors and tax advisors as required
Maintain Compliance records for the business activities and accreditations
What we're looking for
A qualification in accounting, bookkeeping or finance (or equivalent professional experience)
Proficiency in accounting software packages, with knowledge of MYOB is highly desirable
Strong numeracy skills and meticulous attention to detail
Knowledge of Australian tax and superannuation requirements
Competency with Microsoft Excel and general office software
Excellent organisational and time management abilities
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
Professional integrity and commitment to confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
Previous experience in bookkeeping or small practice accounting is highly valued
