About Australian Airport ServicesAustralian Airport Services (AAS) was established in Cairns in 2003. Since then, we've expanded to Townsville, Darwin and Canberra, delivering Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance, repairs and operational support to airports across Australia.
We work with major airlines and ground handlers to keep their equipment operating safely and reliably.
About the RoleAs a Diesel Mechanic / Light Vehicle Mechanic, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of Ground Support Equipment (GSE). You'll work both independently and as part of a supportive team to ensure equipment is maintained safely, reliably and to a high standard.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in producing quality work and supporting safe and efficient airport operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform servicing, maintenance and repairs on Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
Complete preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
Travel to regional airports as required to carry out scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment.
Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance team to deliver high-quality service.
Follow company safety procedures and promote a positive safety culture.
Support continuous improvement across workshop operations.
We're looking for someone who has:
A trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent mechanical trade.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Experience working on heavy vehicles, plant equipment or Ground Support Equipment (GSE) is highly regarded.
The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
A current driver's licence (HR licence desirable).
Good computer skills, including Google Workspace (experience with maintenance management software is advantageous but not essential).
