The opportunityWe're seeking a Risk Management Specialist to support a Commonwealth agency's implementation of a new Agency Risk Management Tool. This role sits at the centre of a strategic modernisation program, translating the agency's risk framework, policies and reporting requirements into a configured, fit-for-purpose system that strengthens organisational risk capability across the enterprise.
What you'll doAnalyse the agency's current risk management framework, policies, procedures and reporting requirementsEnsure the new tool is configured to support enterprise, strategic, operational, project and compliance risk processesReview and validate risk taxonomy, categories, consequence and likelihood matrices, treatment plans, control libraries and reporting structuresTranslate risk management and governance requirements into detailed system configuration specificationsProvide specialist advice throughout solution design, configuration, testing and deploymentDevelop and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) scenarios and test casesSupport updates to risk management documentation to enable out-of-the-box tool adoption, while ensuring ongoing compliance with the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy and APS governance requirements
What we're looking forMinimum 5 years' demonstrated experience in enterprise risk management within the Australian Public Sector or a similarly regulated environmentExperience supporting the implementation, enhancement or optimisation of a risk management information system, GRC platform or similar governance solutionSound understanding of the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy, the PGPA Act, APS governance and assurance frameworks, and risk reporting/accountability requirementsHighly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation, reports, briefing papers and training materialsDesirable: experience configuring or supporting ServiceNow Integrated Risk Management/GRC, data cleansing/migration/validation for risk-related information, and designing dashboards or executive reporting packs
