Employing more than 400 staff, CMAX is a 78-bed clinical trials unit, with a database of more than 70,000 clinical trial participants, and utilising state-of-the-art facilities, we are primely positioned, opposite the Royal Adelaide Hospital and part of the Adelaide BioMed City precinct.
About the role
We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Data Assistant to join our Data Team and support the delivery of clinical data in accordance with client specifications, agreed timelines, CMAX Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and relevant regulations and guidelines.
In this role, you will support the Data Manager and provide day-to day guidance to Data Assistants to help ensure study requirements for data entry, quality control and query resolution are completed accurately, efficiently and in line with client expectations. You will also contribute to the consistency, quality and timeliness of data- related activities across multiple studies.
About you
You are a detail-oriented and proactive professional who thrives in a regulated, data-driven environment. You take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work and are confident working to tight timelines across multiple competing priorities.
You bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, sound judgement and a collaborative approach to supporting both peers and stakeholders. You are also comfortable interpreting study requirements, following established processes and escalating issues when needed.
Essential skills and experience
Prior experience in clinical trials or clinical research, ideally gained in a clinical trial site, CRO, sponsor or similar regulated setting;
Demonstrated experience relevant to clinical data entry, source data review, quality control checking and/or query resolution;
Sound working knowledge of ICH-GCP and an understanding of the importance of compliance with protocols, SOPs and regulatory requirements;
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and confidence working with study tracking tools, spreadsheets and study-related documentation;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify, investigate, escalate and support resolution of complex data issues;
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work to tight deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
Proven ability to accurately track study or project activities, milestones and data deliverables and provide timely updates to management;
Sound interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and provide day-to-day support and guidance to less experienced staff;
Commitment to maintaining data integrity, participant confidentiality and data security.
Desirable skills and experience
Experience in early-phase or Phase I clinical research environments is highly regarded;
Experience reviewing Study Protocol sections, particularly in relation to data collection and reporting requirements;
Demonstrated experience developing clear guidance materials to support staff in study-specific data entry and quality control activities, or equivalent experience in training, documentation, or process improvement within a regulated or data-driven environment;
Demonstrated experience assisting with peer-shadowing and on-boarding of new staff as required;
Experience working with electronic data capture (EDC), eCRF, or other clinical trial database systems;
Tertiary qualifications in science, health or a related discipline.
