About the role
headspace is Australia's National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing services across Australia, in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote areas, supporting young people and family to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.
As an Intake and Assessment Officer, you’ll be one of the friendly faces young people meet when they come to the Strathpine headspace centre. In this role, you’ll help create a welcoming, safe, and positive first experience. With your approachable nature and strong relationship-building skills, you’ll form meaningful connections with young people, their families, and key stakeholders to ensure they feel supported and understood from the first conversation.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role, and you’ll thrive in a dynamic team environment where your professional insights contribute to holistic, youth-centred care and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people seeking support.
About You
Experience working with young people, with a proven ability to build rapport and maintain strong, trusting relationships.Strong understanding of mental health and evidence-based interventions.Skilled in intake and screening processes, including comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments.Confident in conducting risk assessments, including suicide and harm-risk evaluation, and developing effective safety and action plans.

Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, health, behavioural or social sciences, community services, or a related field.Current Driver LicenceCurrent Blue Card Current National Police Check
