Slabtec PTY The Building Associate at Slabtec plays a crucial role in supporting the planning, coordination, and supervision of construction projects focused on the repair, strengthening, and protection of concrete structures. Working alongside engineers, builders, and project managers, the Building Associate ensures that all works are executed according to project specifications, building codes, and workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements.

Task & responsibilities Assist the Construction Manager in coordinating and supervising day-to-day site operations to ensure that all works are completed on time, within budget, and according to approved drawings and specifications. Interpret and apply construction plans, technical documentation, and building codes to ensure compliance with project requirements and relevant standards. Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to guarantee the efficient execution of construction activities and the timely delivery of materials.
Monitor work progress and quality, conducting regular site inspections to ensure adherence to safety regulations, design specifications, and company quality standards. Prepare and maintain detailed site reports, including daily logs, progress updates, materials tracking, and inspection records, providing regular feedback to the project management team. Implement and promote workplace health and safety procedures, ensuring all activities are performed in compliance with statutory obligations and company policies.
Participate in project meetings and liaise with engineers, architects, and clients to resolve on-site issues and maintain effective communication throughout the construction process. Support the procurement and inventory management of construction materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper storage, handling, and cost-effective use. Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance site efficiency, quality control, and compliance with industry best practices.
Qualification & experience Minimum 1 year of experience in the construction industry, ideally within concrete repair, remediation, or structural strengthening projects. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment, particularly within structural and remedial works. Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, building codes, and project specifications.
Excellent teamwork, coordination, and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with engineers, contractors, and clients. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance and safety compliance. Sound understanding of WHS standards and their application in construction environments.
Success Indicators Projects completed on time, within scope, and compliant with relevant codes and specifications. High-quality site execution with minimal rework or defects. Strong adherence to WHS and quality management protocols.
Positive collaboration and feedback from engineers, supervisors, and clients.
