Freight Administrator

About the role

This is role is offered for 12 months as a parental leave replacement role.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our team in an entry level role as a Freight Administrator. The role supports our internal freight team and will assist with ensuring the seamless execution of freight movements while maintaining high service standards and regulatory compliance. As the Freight Administrator, you will report to the Freight Manager and be responsible for the coordination of paperwork, confirmation of successful deliveries and the documentation of discrepancies. This role requires a professional approach to daily operations, with a steadfast commitment to safety, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) protocols, and our core company values.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Freight Team in the daily coordination and booking of freight

• Proactively monitor shipments to maintain and improve KPI performance

• Act as a point of contact for carriers to resolve minor scheduling delays

• Manage daily transport documentation, including manifests, labels, declarations, and consignment notes

• Accurately record delivery discrepancies, damages, or delays in the system

• Ensure all PODs (Proof of Delivery) and freight data are filed and accessible for reporting

• Coordinate day-to-day operations in strict accordance with business rules and legislative requirements

• Operate within the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) framework to ensure transport safety and legal compliance

• Meet or exceed individual and team KPIs related to data accuracy and reporting timelines

About you

• High School Certificate or equivalent

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)

• High level of organisational skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent communication and customer service skills (internal/external)

• Reliable, flexible team player

• Effective time management / multi-tasking skills

• Previous experience in a logistics or transport administration role preferred, but not essential
