Redfield College is an independent Catholic boys’ school (Year 2 to Year 12) teaching the Catholic faith with a unique, personalised education program. Redfield College currently has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Head of History/ Secondary Teacher, commencing in Term 1, 2027. This is a permanent full-time position, with a 3-year leadership appointment as Head of History.
Specifically, you will provide teaching and learning experiences for students, that are based on a sound understanding of pedagogy and content knowledge that:
Differentiate the curriculum for individual needs
Utilise a variety of technologies to underpin sound pedagogical practices
Utilise authentic assessment
Embed sound learning theory
Meet the aims, objectives, and outcomes of the NESA curriculum
In addition to contributing to co-curricular activities, you will also be responsible for attending staff development days, Key Parent Functions, and professional development sessions that may take place after school throughout the year.
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:
Qualifications and experience teaching History across Years 7 to 12
Demonstrated ability to engage students in their learning and to integrate technology into the classroom.
Capacity to differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of a diverse range of students.
An understanding of student management strategies which would support the school’s focus on positive behaviour management.
A meaningful enthusiasm for working in a dynamic and collaborative learning environment.
A commitment to ongoing evaluation and improvement.
Organisational and communication skills and the ability to engage positively with all stakeholders including parents, students, and staff.
Display the highest ethical and professional behaviour and standards when working with students, parents, and school staff members
Understanding of and support for the vision, mission, values, and ethos of the College
NESA accreditation and hold a current NSW Working with Children Check.
