Head of Data & Intelligence - Credit Risk, Treasury & Finance

What’s the role?

This is a rare opportunity where you'll help shape how one of Australia's largest financial institutions makes some of its most critical decisions.

As Head of Data & Intelligence - Credit Risk, Treasury & Finance, you'll lead the strategy, execution and evolution of data, analytics and intelligence capabilities across some of the bank's most important functions. You'll partner with senior executives across Credit Risk, Treasury, Finance and Technology to ensure data is trusted, accessible and transformed into insights that drive better outcomes for customers, stronger risk management and smarter financial decisions.

You'll bring together data strategy, governance, analytics, regulatory obligations and innovation into a single vision. From strengthening the quality and integrity of enterprise data through to enabling advanced intelligence and AI-driven decision support, you'll be at the centre of how Westpac manages risk, capital, liquidity and financial performance.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll influence enterprise-wide priorities, challenge conventional thinking and build the capabilities that will define the future of data-led decision making across Credit Risk, Treasury and Finance.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• Proven executive leadership experience leading large-scale Data, Analytics, Intelligence and Data Management functions within banking or financial services, with accountability for strategic outcomes and enterprise transformation.
• Deep expertise across Credit Risk, Treasury and Finance, with a strong understanding of regulatory obligations, risk management, capital, liquidity and financial reporting environments.
• Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise data strategies, including data governance, data quality, controls and trusted decision-making frameworks.
• Experience influencing executive stakeholders and partnering across business, risk and technology functions to deliver strategic and commercially meaningful outcomes.
• A track record of building and leading high-performing, multidisciplinary teams across data, analytics, engineering and intelligence disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of modern data platforms, advanced analytics and AI, with the ability to translate emerging capabilities into practical business value at enterprise scale.
• Exceptional strategic thinking and decision-making capability, with the ability to translate complex landscapes into clear business priorities.
• A track record of building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation and responsible AI adoption. 
• A strong customer protection mindset, balancing security, trust and customer experience outcomes.
