Practice Manager

About the role

The Practice Manager is responsible for the overall operational, administrative, staffing, compliance and financial coordination of multiple general practice clinics. The role provides centralised oversight and support to Team Leads at each location, ensuring consistent processes, effective staffing, compliance, financial administration and a high standard of patient service across all clinics. The Practice Manager acts as the key link between the Practice Owners, clinicians, Team Leads, administration staff, bookkeeper and external providers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple clinic locations

• Supervise, support and provide direction to Team Leads

• Ensure consistent policies, procedures and standards across all clinics

• Manage recruitment, on boarding and induction of clinical and administrative staff

• Oversee staff rosters and workforce planning across all clinics

• Prepare and review payroll information for the bookkeeper

• Oversee practice compliance and accreditation requirements

• Coordinate AGPAL accreditation processes and maintain required documentation

• Manage and respond to patient complaints and feedback

• Develop, review and maintain practice policies and procedures

About you

• Experience in general practice or healthcare management

• Experience managing multiple sites and/or teams

• Strong knowledge of general practice operations and Medicare requirements

• Experience in HR, recruitment, rostering and staff management

• Understanding of RACGP Standards and AGPAL accreditation

• Knowledge of PRODA, PIP/WIP and Medicare administration

• Strong financial and administrative skills, including payroll and reporting

• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills

• High level of confidentiality, professionalism and attention to detail

• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
