Busways is the largest Australian-owned bus operator and the most experienced Australian bus specialist, delivering high-performing transport services since 1942. As the first choice for real world solutions, we provide public bus services on behalf of state governments. Our team of 2,800â¯operates 1,350 buses and 47 million journeys annually
Hours of work
The majority of shifts available for full-time and casual drivers are worked as split shifts. Split shifts work by providing two portions of work to cover peak service times morning and afternoon/evening. Please note the below periods are a general time frame in which a split shift portion may operate, durations of shifts vary. All shifts comply with National Heavy Vehicle Regulations and the applicable Enterprise Agreement.
Outside of these hours you can leave the depot to head home or run errands, or you can choose to stay at the depot and take advantage of our driver facilities.
There are also some straight shifts that may be available with shifts starting at varied times of the day, from morning, afternoon or evenings. â¯
All depots operate seven days per week with most weekend work available as overtime.
