Role Purpose

The Used Parts Inventory Technician is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vehicles acquired for dismantling. This role ensures every vehicle entering the yard is correctly logged, presented, assessed, and graded so that ASV Euro Car Parts can maximise stock value, protect quality standards, and support fast turnaround from acquisition to sale.

Key Responsibilities

• Allocate stock numbers to all new vehicle arrivals and accurately record them in the inventory system.
• Ensure vehicles are washed and cleaned to a presentable standard, ready for imaging and video content.
• Coordinate and/or capture quality photos and videos of each vehicle for online listing and internal records.
• Carry out diagnostic scans on each vehicle to identify underlying mechanical or electrical faults.
• Diagnose and, where appropriate, rectify identified faults prior to parts being entered into inventory.
• Grade all parts and components according to ASV's quality and condition standards.
• Identify and remove defective, unsafe, or non-compliant parts from inventory.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of vehicle condition, parts grading, and stock status.
• Liaise with the Used Parts team, sales staff, and management to communicate stock availability and condition.
• Operate yard equipment (including forklift, where licensed) safely and in line with site procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in accordance with WHS requirements.

Skills & Attributes

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently across teams.
• Strong computer literacy, including confidence using inventory management systems, digital cameras/imaging software, and general office software.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• High attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection, grading, and record-keeping.
• Good time management and the ability to prioritise workflow across multiple vehicles.
• A safety-conscious mindset and commitment to following workplace health and safety procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Current, valid driver's licence – essential.
• Forklift licence (LF) – highly regarded, though not essential.
• Basic mechanical knowledge – required.
• Automotive trade qualification (e.g. Mechanic, Auto Electrician) – highly desirable, enabling diagnosis and rectification of faults prior to inventory processing.
• Experience with diagnostic scan tools and automotive fault codes – advantageous.
• Prior experience in a dismantling yard, used parts, or automotive workshop environment – advantageous.
• ASV uses Pinnacle Professional by Hollander for inventory management – previous experience is not necessary, however candidates with existing experience using this system will be preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including vehicle washing, moving, and inspection in a yard environment.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in a workshop setting across varying weather conditions.
• Capable of safely operating yard equipment and handling automotive components.
