Technical Support Consultant

About the role

This is a unique and rewarding long-term career opportunity for someone who wants to develop technical skills in a specialised area of eye care. Working as part of an experienced and supportive team, you will help optometrists with custom contact lens fitting and provide practical support across customer service, order processing and administration.

The role may be particularly suited to someone with basic optical knowledge, strong attention to detail and an interest in technical problem-solving. Full training will be provided.

Key responsibilities

• Use topography software to evaluate contact lens options.
• Analyse clinical notes, OCT scans, photographs and videos to support fitting decisions.
• Provide clear, professional advice to optometrists by phone and email regarding contact lens fittings.
• Process customer orders for contact lenses using internal computer systems.
• Provide ongoing technical phone support and assist at exhibitions when required.
• Assist with dispatch, general customer service calls and administrative support duties as needed.

About you

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Confidence using computers and Microsoft Office applications.
• A professional, customer-focused approach and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of contact lens fitting or basic optical experience would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
