About the role
Remote | Anywhere in Australia SCHADS Level 4.1 | $93,600 FTE + super (pro rata) Part-time | Mix of 3- and 4-day weeks. Fixed term from November 2026 to June 2027.
Bus Stop Films is an award-winning, disability-inclusive organisation using filmmaking to change lives. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise, proudly female disability-led, creating pathways, building confidence, and facilitating employment opportunities for people with disability across the screen and advertising industries.
We’re looking for a Services & Support Manager to lead participant engagement and support services across our national Accessible Filmmaking Program. You’ll oversee Support Workers, Corporate Services staff and volunteers, ensuring high-quality, person-centered support is delivered across all locations.
This role blends leadership, coordination, problem-solving, conflict resolution and administration. You’ll work closely with participants, families, carers, program staff and external stakeholders to ensure every student has a safe, inclusive and positive experience.
You’ll report to the General Manager of Programs.
Contracted Hours
Nov: Mon, Tue, Thu (22.8 hours per week)
Dec–Jan: Mon–Thu (30.4 hours per week)
Feb–Jun: FTE Mon, Tue, Thu (22.8 hours per week)
Weekend emergency calls may occur infrequently.
What you’ll do
Lead, support and develop Support Workers and Corporate Services staff
Oversee recruitment, onboarding and compliance for support staff
Deliver Access Training and contribute to training resources
Provide NDIS guidance to participants and families
Build strong relationships through regular communication and wellbeing check-ins
Manage participant onboarding, enrolments and attendance
Host NDIS support calls with participants and carers
Prepare risk assessments, incident reports and end-of-block summaries
Respond to concerns, facilitate mediations and escalate issues where needed
Maintain CRM accuracy and support implementation of CRM systems, participant profiles and program documentation
Brief support workers for inclusive film sets and support filming days as required
Support excursions, film projects and community engagement activities
What you’ll bring
Qualification in Disability, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or similar (or equivalent experience)
Experience with NDIS frameworks
Experience managing staff
Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
Strong administration and organisational capability
Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Desirable
Mental Health First Aid
Crisis intervention training
Experience delivering training
Knowledge of film, arts or community sectors

Key Selection Criteria
1. Qualifications & Experience
Essential
A relevant qualification in Disability, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
Demonstrated experience working within NDIS frameworks
Experience managing and leading staff
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
High-level administrative skills
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a remote environment
Desirable
Mental Health First Aid certification
Crisis intervention training
Experience delivering training or facilitation
Knowledge of the film, arts, or community services sector
2. Customer Service, Interpersonal & Stakeholder Engagement Skills
Demonstrated ability to navigate difficult conversations with a range of stakeholders while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
3. Communications, Administration & Technology Proficiency
Confidence with general office procedures and filing systems
Proficient use of technology including Google Workspace, Zoom, AI tools, Canva, project management software, and CRM systems
4. People Leadership & Management
Demonstrated experience managing employees and contractors remotely, including recruitment, development, support, and performance management
5. Problem Solving, Flexibility & Adaptability
Skilled in identifying patterns and potential issues before they arise, with a demonstrated track record of implementing effective solutions
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a commitment to precise record-keeping and minimal errors
6. Autonomy & Remote Work
Proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently while achieving desired outcomes in a remote setting
