Operations Manager

About the role

Broome Transit is seeking a proactive, energetic and customer focused Operations Manager to support the current supervisor team in the coordination of bus operations with a focus on FIFO transfers for the mining industry and Charter operations. This position works closely with the Managing Director with a team approach towards achieving objectives. Full operations training will be provided to the successful applicant.

Hours of work will be 38 hours per week plus any reasonable additional hours that are necessary to fulfil your duties or as otherwise required. You will generally be working during ordinary business hours, as required, inclusive of unpaid meal breaks. Additional hours and travel will be required depending on client visitation dates/times. Work on public holidays and weekends will be compensated with the Toil policy.

Key responsibilities

• Efficient running of bus operations, ensuring service, safety and cost efficiency are of the highest levels

• Conducting driver induction training program

• On road driver training including test driving new applicants

• Supervision of staff, including rostering, driver communications, and coordination of training to meet standards required

• Charter allocations, fleet and staff scheduling

• Relief supervision of charter and contract services operations

• Rotating after hours on call duties

About you

• Experience in fleet operations

• Demonstrate knowledge of applicable legislation and standards

• Strong organisational skills with an ability to schedule effectively and to prioritise any unexpected changes

• Excellent communication with an ability to provide clear direction, keep people informed and build positive working relationships

• Exemplary customer service skills, ensuring customer needs are met

• Positive and professional attitude with the ability to remain calm and in control

• Hold MR - HR Licence and Drivers Accreditation Certificate
