About the role
Kick-start your career with a plant-based Japanese cooking school 🌿🇯🇵
Are you studying Communications, PR, Marketing, Events or a related field and looking for an internship that can contribute to your university course or academic credit?
Cooking With Yoshiko is looking for a motivated university student to join our small, friendly and creative plant-based Japanese cooking school in Sydney.
This internship is suitable for students who are required to complete an industry placement as part of their degree or course and who can receive university or academic credit for the internship.We understand that students are often balancing university, assignments and paid work, so we offer two commitment options:
• 3 days per week – minimum 3 monthsor• 2 days per week – minimum 4 months
The internship also includes attending two weekend cooking classes per month to help capture photo and video content.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in marketing, social media, events, content creation and customer communication while seeing how a niche food and wellness business operates.We are passionate about health, plant-based food and Japanese cooking, so this internship would especially suit someone who shares an interest in these areas.
What we do
Cooking With Yoshiko offers:
• Public Japanese cooking classes• Private cooking classes, corporate team-building events and special occasions• Private chef and fine dining experiences• Live cooking demonstrations and community events• Online cooking classes• Cookbook and Japanese food product sales• Organic Japanese matcha and other Japanese ingredients
What you’ll be involved inYour responsibilities may include:• Social media management, mainly Instagram and Facebook• Creating and sourcing social media content• Scheduling posts and reviewing performance• Creating newsletters using Mailchimp• Updating our WordPress website• Creating and uploading blog posts• Helping create marketing materials• Taking photos and videos at cooking classes and events• Assisting with promotions and special projects

You’ll be someone who is:
• Currently studying Communications, PR, Marketing, Events or a related field• Eligible to receive university or academic credit for the internship placement• Reliable and able to commit to the full internship period• Comfortable working independently as well as with a small team• Interested in social media, content creation and digital marketing• Keen to learn and willing to get involved• Available for two weekend cooking classes per month
This is an unpaid internship placement for university/college credit and should form part of your approved course or educational program.Interested?
