Senior Administrative Officer (Clinical/Non-clinical)

We are seeking a motivated and highly organised professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys balancing multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes. You will be a strong communicator with excellent coordination and administrative skills, capable of building productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across Open Arms and the broader Department. Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, you will demonstrate sound judgement, initiative and attention to detail when managing projects, reporting activities and competing deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting workforce capability, learning and development, program governance or related initiatives within a health, mental health, human services or government environment. You will bring strong organisational and project management skills, along with the ability to coordinate training activities, support capability planning, contribute to evaluation and continuous improvement processes, and provide practical solutions to complex challenges. An understanding of contemporary learning and development approaches and a commitment to evidence-based practice will be highly regarded.

Senior Program Officer

This role involves managing multiple competing priorities to support program assurance, governance and continuous improvement activities across Open Arms. The position requires strong skills in program management, governance, risk management, evaluation and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to provide sound advice and contribute to organisational objectives.

The successful applicant will work closely with colleagues across the Clinical Governance and Programs Directorate and may be required to support a range of program assurance and governance functions. Experience working in a mental health, health or human services environment and an understanding of evidence-based service delivery will be highly regarded.

• Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
• All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
• The successful candidate will be required obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance.

Mandatory Requirements

Senior Administrative Officer (Clinical)

• Qualifications as a registered Psychologist / Occupational Therapist / Mental Health Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration, OR
• Qualification as a Social Worker eligible for membership of the Australian Association Social Workers (AASW) and eligible to apply for Mental Health accreditation OR
• Qualifications as a Counsellor with a minimum Level 4 Australian Counselling Association registration.

Highly Desirable Requirements

Senior Administrative Officer (Clinical)

Highly desirable qualifications and/or previous experience in: 

• learning and development, workforce capability or organisational development.

Senior Administrative Officer (Non-clinical)

Highly desirable qualifications and/or previous experience in:

• learning and development, workforce capability or organisational development, and
• project management.

Senior Program Officer

• project/program management.
