About the Role:

As our Estimating Team Leader - Residential & Multi-Res, you'll lead and develop a talented team of estimators - onshore and offshore - to produce technically correct, commercially sound estimates for residential and multi-residential projects. You'll be the technical backbone of the team: reviewing take-offs, resolving design queries, and making sure every quote that leaves your desk is right the first time. Reporting to the Estimating Operations Manager, you'll have real ownership over output, accuracy, margin and the people who deliver it.


Responsibilities of the Role:

• Leading, mentoring and developing our estimating team - onshore and offshore - with hands-on coaching, technical training and regular feedback to keep everyone performing at their best
  
• Driving output across both portfolios that hits the mark on accuracy, volume and timeliness against quote due dates
  
• Reviewing and quality-checking every estimate and quotation in MAJIC before it goes out the door - take-offs, member sizing, scope, pricing and margin - and raising a formal query rather than proceeding on assumption
  
• Owning design queries and any deviations from customer documentation end to end, from raising through to customer and Design team sign-off
  
• Allocating workload across the team against quote due dates and sales priorities, and pulling in extra support when things get busy
  
• Keeping requotes to a minimum through strong quality control, and making sure customer, Vietnam and India enquiries are followed through to close
  
• Digging into margin performance across both portfolios, spotting trends and driving corrective action to protect profitability
  
• Leading continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma methodologies - sharper accuracy, faster cycle times, fewer errors and better use of resources
  
• Building and maintaining our estimating SOPs, pricing models and scope-of-works documentation
  
• Being the connective tissue between Sales, Design, Detailing, Production, Dispatch and Operations to keep every project moving
  
• Reporting on estimating accuracy, turnaround, margin and team performance to the Estimating Operations Manager
  

What We're Looking For:

• Hands-on estimating or detailing experience in timber prefabrication (or solid building industry experience), with confident reading of architectural and engineering plans
  
• Working knowledge of the National Construction Code and Australian timber framing standards
  
• A sharp eye for detail and a track record of accurate, high-volume technical work
  
• Commercial know-how - comfortable with pricing, cost build-ups and gross margin
  
• Natural leadership: you motivate people, hold your team accountable, and genuinely enjoy developing others (bonus points for experience leading or supporting offshore teams)
  
• Clear, confident communication - you can explain a technical position to a customer, a colleague or a manager with equal ease
  
• Computer literacy with MiTek (Sapphire), MAJIC and the Microsoft Office suite
  
• A continuous-improvement mindset - Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt is a plus, or we'll help you get there
