Salary Package starting at: $86,477.26

About the role

This position is responsible for planning, facilitating and supporting the City's community development strategies, projects, and initiatives with a focus on leading and improving community wellbeing and community collaboration within Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

Duties

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with government, service providers, and community and recreation organisations to deliver Community Development programs aligned with the City’s strategic priorities.
• Engage with community stakeholders to identify local issues and trends that inform program delivery.
• Lead initiatives that strengthen governance, participation, connection, and sustainability within community and recreational organisations.
• Work with stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for community-led initiatives, capacity building, volunteerism, and community activation.
• Support community-led projects in line with the City’s Strategic Community Plan and related strategies.
• Promote and deliver City and community programs, events, and wellbeing initiatives, including Kidsport and key awareness campaigns.
• Maintain stakeholder databases and communication networks.
• Identify and develop community partnerships, projects, grants, and funding opportunities.
• Maintain role-related processes and procedures and meet required timelines.
• Undertake other duties as directed.

Who we are Looking for:

To be considered for this position, you will need:

• Demonstrated experience relevant to community development, sports and recreation or similar discipline including involvement on Committees for clubs or other types of not-for-profit organisations. 
• Demonstrated experience in effective community consultation and engagement with stakeholders. 
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolution. 
• Current Working with Children Check. 
• Current satisfactory National Police Clearance. 
• Current WA "C" Class driver's licence. 
• Current Applied First Aid Certificate.
