About the role
About the RoleAn exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to support a Cyber Programme on an initial 1-year fixed-term contract.
You'll play a key role in delivering the programme's business intelligence, data and reporting requirements, working across data modelling, ETL development, Power BI and the Databricks/Lakehouse platform. Report writing and development will be a critical part of the position, with the successful candidate responsible for producing the reporting required by the programme.
This is a hands-on technical role with no team or line management responsibilities. You'll work directly with business users to understand their information and reporting needs, define requirements and translate these into meaningful reporting solutions rather than simply building to predefined specifications.

Technical RequirementsMust HaveStrong data modelling experience, including multi-dimensional and relational modellingETL development and data transformation experiencePower BI development experienceDatabricks / Lakehouse platform experienceStrong report writing and report development capabilityExperience planning, designing and implementing BI reporting systems
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, model and maintain business intelligence solutionsProduce reporting required by the Cyber ProgrammeDevelop Power BI reportingUndertake ETL design and developmentPerform data profiling, modelling, transformation and migration across large and complex environmentsWork within the Databricks / Lakehouse platformGather and analyse reporting and data requirements from business users and stakeholdersWork directly with stakeholders to define reporting requirementsDetermine information needs, relevant data sources and transformation rulesTranslate requirements into a development roadmap and meaningful reporting outputsReview the veracity of relevant external information sourcesWork with technical teams to maintain data integrity and securitySupport stakeholders seeking access to information and reportingMonitor improvements in data standards and governance across core organisational systemsDevelop and enhance BI and data analytics standards, processes, procedures and guidelinesIdentify opportunities for improvementCollaborate with BI, database, solutions delivery and other relevant technical teams
