Property Maintenance Team Member

About The Role

Blue Mountains Grammar School is seeking a reliable and flexible Casual Property Maintenance Team Member to support our Property Manager and Maintenance Team with the day-to-day operation and upkeep of the School's buildings, facilities, and grounds, helping to create a safe, welcoming and well-maintained school environment.

Working in a unique Blue Mountains environment, this role will be based primarily at our Wentworth Falls campus, with occasional work also required at our Springwood campus. The role will involve a broad range of hands-on tasks, including general repairs, grounds maintenance, cleaning and presentation, moving equipment, and assisting with School events and activities. The nature and frequency of the work will vary depending on the School's operational needs throughout the school year.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake general maintenance and repairs across School facilitiesMaintain gardens, grounds, and outdoor areas, including basic landscaping and groundskeepingAssist with cleaning and presentation of buildings, facilities, and outdoor areas when requiredAssist with the set-up, pack-down, and operational requirements of School events, performances, and activitiesSafely operate School vehicles, machinery, and equipment (where appropriately licensed)Identify and respond promptly to maintenance issues, hazards, and facilities requestsAssist with site security and securing School facilities as requiredWork safely and in accordance with School policies and WHS requirements

Fast learner and able to assist with a wide range of tasksProactive and willing to take initiativeStrong attention to detailGood communication skills, and able to interact positively and professionally with staff, students, contractors and visitors

Essential Requirements

Previous experience in a similar hands-on roleCurrent Australian driver's licence, and the ability to drive manual vehiclesBasic computer literacyGood understanding of WHS and safe work practicesCurrent NSW Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain oneFull Australian working rights

Relevant trade qualifications, licences, industry training, experience operating maintenance equipment, and/or a current First Aid certificate would also be advantageous.
