Garment Alterations & Repairs – Work From Home

About the role

This is a flexible work-from-home position for an experienced garment alterations and repairs professional. The work will include a wide variety of garment alterations and repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Taking up trousers and pants
• Replacing standard zips in pants and other garments
• Replacing and fitting invisible zips in dresses and other garments
• Shortening and altering lined jacket sleeves
• Dress alterations, including taking in and letting out where possible
• General garment alterations
• Repairing holes, tears and damaged seams
• Replacing and sewing on buttons
• General mending and repairs

About you

• Have solid experience in garment alterations and repairs
• Be confident working with both standard and invisible zips
• Be experienced with dresses, trousers, jackets and lined garments
• Produce neat, professional, high-quality work
• Be comfortable working with a variety of fabrics and garment styles
• Have your own suitable sewing equipment and workspace at home
• Be reliable and complete work within agreed timeframes
• Have good attention to detail and take pride in your workmanship
