Disability Support Worker

About the role

Total Life Empowerment is looking for an experienced support worker to work around the Townsville Region. We empower participants and their families to achieve their goals via a person-centered, human rights focused supports and aim to assist individuals achieve independence and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Create meaningful and purposeful relationships with a range of individuals
• Follow processes and apply critical thinking skills
• Explore participants' goals and plan how to achieve them
• Work across a 7-day roster which will be a combination of shifts including mornings, afternoons, sleepover shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Assist people who have an intellectual and or physical disability

About you

• Capable of creating meaningful and purposeful relationships with a range of individuals
• Take initiative to follow processes and possess critical thinking skills
• Trustworthy and compassionate
• Great communication skills and able to explore participants goals and plan how to achieve them
• First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Yellow Card or NDIS Worker Screening Check (or eligible to obtain)
• WWCC (blue card) (or willingness to obtain)
• Valid Australian driver's license (P1 or higher) and personal car for reliable transport with insurance
• Experience in assisting people who have an intellectual and or physical disability, or other relevant industry experience
• Eligible to work in Australia
• NDIS Workers Orientation Module (or willing to obtain)
• NDIS Induction Module (or willing to obtain)
