Medical Receptionist

At Eastern Suburbs Retina we require a motivated individual to join our team. Someone who displays a professional and welcoming manner who is capable of working in a fast paced, busy ophthalmology clinic.

Responsibilities Include:

• Scheduling consultation and surgical appointments for patients

• Patient Billings and processing claims to Medicare, DVA, Private and Workcover

• Basic triaging of emergencies

• Managing and maintaining patient records

• General Administrative duties including filing, banking, recalls etc.

• Maintenance and up-keeping of the practice

• Typing of medical letters and reports

Essential Criteria:

• Highly Organised and able to multitask and work under pressure

• Must have high level computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) and internet skills

• A professional, caring and friendly demeanor

• Reliable and punctual with the ability to work autonomously and within a team

• Fluent in English with a professional phone manner

• Full Australian work rights

Desirable Criteria:

• Prior experience as a medical receptionist

• Knowledge of medical billing and rebates will be highly regarded

• Experience with medical/typing software an advantage but not essential
