Royal Life Saving Queensland (RLSSQ) is seeking a passionate and capable Community Water Safety Education Delivery Officer to support the delivery of evidence-based water safety programs to communities and schools across Queensland.
This is a hands-on, purpose-driven role suited to an experienced swim teacher who is committed to strengthening aquatic capability and reducing drowning risk. You will deliver practical in-water programs, facilitate group presentations, and contribute to the design and coordination of initiatives that build lifelong water safety knowledge and skills.
About the RoleThe position combines program delivery, stakeholder engagement and administration. Responsibilities include:
Delivering water safety and swimming programs in pools and community settings
Facilitating workshops and presentations to schools, community groups and industry stakeholders
Supporting the design and continuous improvement of water safety programs
Assisting with grant writing, reporting and program evaluation
Engaging with schools, councils and community partners to coordinate delivery
Providing high-quality customer service and responding to enquiries
Completing administrative tasks including email correspondence, report writing and scheduling
Travel across Queensland, including regional areas, will be required. The role includes weekday work, with some evenings, weekends, public holidays and occasional overnight travel.
About YouYou are an experienced and confident educator who thrives both in the water and in front of groups. You are organised, adaptable and motivated by community impact.
Essential requirements:
Current Swim Teacher qualification
Required to deliver a large variety of Water Safety programs to various community groups, ages and abilities
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Current Australian driver's licence
Valid Australian work rights
Current Working with Children Blue Card
Highly regarded:
Experience working with schools or diverse community groups
Demonstrated experience delivering water safety programs
Strong written communication skills, including report writing
Experience or ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders in person, via phone and email
Experience in program design and grant writing
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team
Recommended having a minimum of 1-2 years of swim teaching experience
Willingness to travel and work weekends, evenings or early mornings when required.
