About the role
This is a practical role working both in the workshop and outdoors preparing, cleaning, refurbishing and carrying out minor repairs to shipping containers.
Key responsibilities
Container washing and cleaning using a high pressure hose
Surface preparation using an angle grinder
Floor sanding and preparation of container floors
Minor container repairs, including door seals and removal of nails, tape and glue
Following workplace health and safety (OHS) procedures and using the required PPE
Keeping your work area clean, organised and safe
About you
Enjoy hands on work outdoors
Is reliable and punctual, with a strong attendance record and positive attitude
Is physically fit and capable of a demanding role
Takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail and gets the job done properly
Understands the importance of workplace health and safety and follows procedures
Is comfortable using tools and equipment and willing to learn
Can work independently and part of a close knit team
Can pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
Previous experience in container repairs, painting, fabrication, maintenance, labouring or similar environment is an advantage but a good attitude and willingness to learn are just as important
