Carpenter/joiner

About the business:

Kings Outdoor Living is currently looking for a skilled and qualified Carpenter or joiner to become an integral member of our team. 

We are a Tasmanian family owned and operated business that supply and install Hobart’s leading range of outdoor coverings, balustrades, decks and residential and commercial shade sail projects.

 All our products are custom built, ensuring the perfect fit, using the highest grade fabric and materials that are made to last. We offer a huge variety of high quality, custom-made outdoor products to suit residential or commercial shade and outdoor living needs. 

About the role:

We currently require qualified or experienced carpenter or joiner for full time work (part time opportunities may also be considered for the right person). 

You will enjoy varied work within a business that looks after its people. Due to the nature of the business most of the work is light and clean. 

Opportunities for growth and to be mentored into leadership roles will also be provided for those looking to grow and develop their skills and experience or to diversify into other areas of the business.

About you:

You will possess appropriate qualifications and must be reliable, be on time and presentable. A valid and current Driver’s license is also essential. Due to the type of work we do you must be able to pass police check to obtain a working with vulnerable people card. Ideally, we are looking for applicants based in either Hobart or Sorell areas.

Skills / Experience Required: 

• Ability to accurately measure and cut.

• Measuring and cutting of aluminium 

• Excellent organizational/housekeeping skills.

• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised at times.

• Ability to work to deadlines and have time management skills.

• Ability to clean and tidy work area and related vehicles. 

Desirable / Tickets Required: 

• Experience in similar role 

• White Card

• WWVP Card

• Forklift ticket 

• Medium ridged licence
