Case Navigator

About the role

VeteranHub Tasmania is seeking a motivated and compassionate Case Navigator to join our team.

This position can be based in New Town or Launceston, Tasmania.

As the first point of contact, you will play a crucial role in supporting current and former members of the Australian Defence Force, their families, and other organisations seeking assistance and support through VeteranHub.

What you'll be doing

• Navigating efficiently on behalf of clients through various Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) departments, including claims, rehabilitation, and wellbeing services

• Delivering trauma-informed, person-centred guidance and support to veterans and their families

• Accurately document and maintain detailed, confidential case notes to ensure strict adherence to legislative, privacy, and organisational standards

• Build and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships with DVA, Ex-Service Organisations (ESOs), and community service providers across the state

• Continuously expand your knowledge of military compensation legislation and policies

• Actively participate in the design, development, and implementation of Veteran Hub Tasmania navigation services, ensuring they accurately reflect and meet the evolving needs of the local Tasmanian veteran community

What we're looking for

• Willingness to attain ATDP (Advocacy Training and Development Program) qualifications.

• Demonstrated interest in veteran entitlements and wellbeing support.

• Proven community services experience is essential for this position.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathetically support clients.

• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret legislation and policies.

• Highly detail-oriented and organised, capable of managing diverse client needs effectively.

• A genuine passion for supporting the ex-service community and making a positive difference in their lives.
