This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2027

The Role
Gilmore College is ideally seeking an experienced and enthusiastic English teacher to join our dynamic and dedicated team. The successful applicant should display excellence in teaching and learning, a commitment to evidence-based practice, and the ability to inspire students to achieve their best. Applicants who can apply the Department of Education’s Teaching for Impact strategy, using evidence-based practices to maximise student engagement and achievement in English and General Capabilities, will be highly regarded.
As a member of our English Learning Area, you will ideally be a conscientious, flexible, and innovative teacher committed to the development of the whole student. You should be actively involved both within the school and the wider community, highly reflective of your teaching practices, and dedicated to evidence-based decision making and differentiation.
Experience teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) English Studies is also well regarded. The successful applicant should be collaborative, highly committed, and able to work effectively with our dedicated English team. In this role, you should actively participate in ongoing professional learning and reflect on your own teaching practice to enhance student engagement and maintain a culture of high-quality teaching.
You would work in partnership with the Head of Learning Area and the English team to lead strategies and initiatives that continue to drive improvement in student engagement, classroom teaching, and student performance across Years 7 to 12.
