About The Job
The Data Management Specialist will lead data management and governance activities across research and operational projects within the Research Office and the Data Science and Analytical Methods (DSAM) team. The role is responsible for ensuring research data is managed securely, consistently and in accordance with organisational, ethical and regulatory requirements.
Reporting To Director, Research Operations You Will
Design and implement data management plans, REDCap databases and validated measures libraries across Orygen's research portfolioLead data governance and compliance, ensuring adherence to ethics, privacy legislation and regulatory requirements while championing FAIR data principlesDrive data quality through validation, auditing, data dictionaries and reproducible workflows that keep datasets inspection and analysis-readyPartner with researchers, biostatisticians and the Research Office to deliver training and continuously improve data management infrastructureContribute to grant applications, manuscripts and reports at one of the world's leading youth mental health organisations
Skills and experience
The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Biostatistics or related field.Experience managing research or health datasets, including building and maintaining REDCap databases and working with relational databases.Strong knowledge of data governance, privacy, FAIR data principles and ethics and governance processes.Proficiency in R, Python and/or SQL with experience developing data management plans, metadata standards and reproducible workflows.Excellent communication skills, sharp attention to detail and an eagerness to learn in a fast-paced research environment.

This is a full-time, 12-month contract, with potential to extend.
