About the role
They are looking for an accountant to work alongside their existing accountant and directors, sharing the client accounting workload while also supporting the internal finance operations of the wider group. It is a genuine ground-floor opportunity to grow with a business that is scaling quickly, in a business where the advice, lending and accounting teams work closely together.
What you'll be doing
Preparing individual and small business tax returns, and running client tax return meetingsSupporting client bookkeeping, reconciliations, BAS, GST and general compliance workPreparing financial reports, management reporting, budgets and forecastsContributing to the internal finance operations of the group, including reporting, accounts payable and receivable, and record keepingProactive tax planning that helps clients look ahead, not just report after the factHelping improve templates, systems and processes as the practice grows
What you'll bring
Accounting experience in public practice or professional servicesConfidence talking to clients and explaining things simplyComfort running individual tax return meetings, or the drive to be trained up to that pointStrong attention to detail, good organisation and a proactive, eager-to-learn attitudeExperience with Xero, MYOB or QuickBooksCA or CPA qualified, or working towards it
