The Role
We're looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join a Defence communications program team in Canberra. This is a great opportunity for a specialist communications engineer to support the design, integration and delivery of secure networking capability across voice, video and data systems.
You'll work closely with engineering teams and Defence stakeholders, providing technical assurance and contractor oversight across a complex, secure network environment.

Key Responsibilities
Perform network engineering activities across voice, video and data systems, including converged communications Support the development and integration of secure, resilient Defence network architectures (LAN, WAN) Conduct requirements analysis and allocation for network and communications systems Review design documentation, specialist engineering reports and contractor deliverables Support cybersecurity and network hardening considerations alongside relevant stakeholders
Required
Current NV1 security clearance Chartered Professional Engineer status (or ability to attain), with a tertiary qualification in Network Engineering, Telecommunications or a related discipline Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills Experience in leadership and management roles, with the ability to coach and guide teams ASDEFCON Suite experience Relevant industry certifications highly regarded Experience in Defence or Capability Acquisition and Sustainment environments Understanding of technical, logistical and operational requirements in capability delivery, and relevant Defence policy Experience managing cross-functional teams across diverse technical specialisations
