Glengollan Village is seeking an organised and motivated Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team for a 12-month fixed term, with the potential for the position to become permanent.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounts professional looking to broaden their experience across both accounts’ payable and receivable. You will join Glengollan during an exciting period of systems and process improvement and will receive support to further develop your finance skills.

About the role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will assist with the accurate and timely delivery of Glengollan’s day-to-day accounts payable and receivable functions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing, coding and checking supplier invoices.
• Confirming that invoices have appropriate approvals and are allocated to the correct accounts and cost centres.
• Preparing supplier payment runs and processing approved payments.
• Reconciling supplier statements and responding to supplier enquiries.
• Maintaining accurate supplier records and banking details.
• Raising invoices and processing resident and customer account transactions.
• Receipting and allocating payments, including direct debit transactions.
• Monitoring outstanding accounts and assisting with courteous follow-up of overdue balances.
• Responding to account enquiries from residents, families, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Assisting with bank, credit card, debtor and creditor reconciliations.
• Supporting month-end processes, reporting and audit requirements.
• Assisting with data validation, systems implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintaining confidentiality and complying with Glengollan’s financial controls, policies and procedures.

About you

You will be well suited to this position if you have:

• Approximately one to two years’ experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping or accounts administration; however, candidates with a relevant qualification and strong entry-level skills are also encouraged to apply.
• Good numerical skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• The ability to organise your workload and meet regular processing deadlines.
• Confident communication skills and a helpful, professional approach.
• Experience using accounting or finance systems.
• Sound Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
• A willingness to learn new systems and contribute to process improvements.
• The ability to handle sensitive financial and personal information appropriately.

Experience within aged care, retirement living, healthcare or the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous but is not essential. A Certificate IV, Diploma or tertiary studies in accounting, bookkeeping, business or a related discipline would also be viewed favourably.
