This established Chartered Accounting firm is seeking an experienced External Auditor to join its growing team in Mackay. Working across a diverse portfolio of organisations, you will gain exposure to audit, assurance, taxation and financial reporting engagements while collaborating closely with senior professionals and business leaders. 

This role offers variety, technical challenge and the opportunity to develop broader commercial and advisory skills within a supportive and professional environment. 

The Role 

• Conduct external audits for companies, not-for-profit organisations, trusts and other entities 

• Perform audit planning, risk assessments and internal control reviews 

• Prepare audit workpapers, reports and supporting documentation 

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and taxation compliance work 

• Identify key financial, operational and compliance risks 

• Analyse financial information and communicate findings to stakeholders 

• Support Managers and Partners on technical matters and client engagements 

About You 

• Degree qualified in Accounting 

• CA or CPA qualified, or currently undertaking studies 

• 5+ years' experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm 

• Previous external audit experience 

• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and financial reporting requirements 

• Experience using accounting and practice management software 

• Excellent communication, analytical and time management skills
