About the role
The Vegetation Management Audit Officer (also known as Engagement and Quality Officer internally) will carry out vegetation customer consultation and quality assessment of contractor cutting and inspection activities required for the CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy distribution networks.
These activities primarily relate to establishment and maintenance of electric line clearance. The role will also conduct HS&E audit checks on contractors.
This role is primarily responsible to works covered between Ballarat, Kyneton and Macedon, however occasional day and overnight travels to other parts of Victoria may also occur.
This position is covered by the Powercor & CitiPower & ASU, PA UWU Enterprise Agreement. The salary range for this role is Pay Point 14 ($120,303) – Pay Point 18 ($141,711) + 13% of super + allowances.
Key responsibilities
Undertake patrols and inspections to assess and monitor vegetation compliance.
Undertake weekly quality audits of inspection and cutting contractors.
Conduct vegetation negotiations and resolve customer complaints where required.
Ensure negotiations are conducted in a manner that meets the Vegetation program strategic outcomes.
Consistently ensure safe working processes and procedures are followed to enable a safe working environment.
Diligently report hazards, near misses and improvements to ensure the team and broader business are kept abreast of emerging issues.
Identify and promote improvement opportunities including adopting new technologies and data analytics.
Consistently work autonomously around various parts of the networks to deliver the expectations of the arborist assessment program.

What you’ll need from day one
Demonstrated experience in a field customer facing vegetation management role.
Proven experience working on high volume and geographically dispersed programs is advantageous.
Experience utilising safety protocols, PPE requirements, and emergency response procedures.
Experience in the Utilities, especially electricity distribution (advantageous).
Qualification as an Arborist level 3 (advantageous).
