Residential Construction Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Residential Construction Supervisor to join the team at Aushomes Pty Ltd. This is a full-time position based in Toowoomba, QLD 4350. As Residential Construction Supervisor, you will play a crucial leadership role in overseeing residential construction projects from inception through to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, whilst maintaining a safe and productive work environment. This position is integral to our success in delivering quality homes and maintaining our reputation as a trusted residential construction company.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities, including labour, materials, and equipment

• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and company policies on construction sites

• Manage project timelines and schedules, liaising with project managers and subcontractors to maintain progress

• Conduct daily site inspections and quality control checks to ensure work meets specifications and standards

• Prepare and maintain accurate site reports, documentation, and records for all construction activities

• Manage budgets and monitor costs to ensure projects remain within financial parameters

• Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders regarding project status and any issues

• Train, mentor, and supervise site personnel, fostering a culture of safety and professionalism

• Coordinate and liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services

• Identify and resolve on-site problems efficiently and implement corrective actions as required

What we're looking for

• 3+ years' experience in residential construction supervision or a similar leadership role on construction sites

• Proven knowledge of residential building practices, construction methods, and building standards relevant to Queensland

• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements, including site safety procedures and incident reporting

• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

• Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities with experience supervising tradespeople and labourers

• Sound knowledge of project budgeting, cost control, and resource management

• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders

• Problem-solving ability and capacity to make sound decisions under pressure

• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to construction sites as required

• Desirable: Formal qualifications in construction management, site supervision, or related field

• Desirable: Previous experience with residential building projects in Queensland
