About the role
Cattlemans Country Motor Inn is seeking a talented Full Time Chef to join our kitchen team in Dubbo, NSW. This is a full-time permanent position based at our hospitality venue, where you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests. As Chef, you will be responsible for menu planning, food preparation, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This role is integral to our commitment to providing outstanding hospitality and dining experiences that keep our guests returning.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to meet menu specifications and maintain consistent food quality and presentation standards
Assist planning and developing menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and guest preferences
Manage food inventory, including ordering, receiving and storage of ingredients to minimise waste and control costs
Maintain a clean, hygienic and organised kitchen environment in compliance with food safety and health regulations
Train, supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff members, ensuring they meet expected performance standards
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to understand guest requirements and accommodate special dietary requests
Adhere to all food safety protocols and maintain necessary certifications and standards
Monitor kitchen equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly and report maintenance issues promptly
Control food costs whilst maintaining quality and portion consistency
What we're looking for
Proven experience working as a Chef or Cook in a busy hospitality kitchen environment
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and culinary principles
Food Safety Supervisor Certification or equivalent qualification in food safety standards
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff
A passion for creating high-quality dishes and a commitment to culinary excellence
Understanding of nutritional requirements and ability to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies
Proficiency in using commercial kitchen equipment
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and public holidays as required
