Senior Designer - Country Road Womenswear Tailoring

We're looking for a Senior Designer with specialist tailoring expertise to help shape the future of Country Road Womenswear. Combining creativity with commercial insight, you'll lead the design and development of elevated tailoring collections that reflect our brand DNA while inspiring our customer season after season.

From concept and trend research through to final product, you'll bring a strong point of view on silhouette, cut, fabrication, fit and craftsmanship. Working closely with Design, Buying, Product Development, Tech Design and our global supplier network, you'll create collections that are modern, relevant and unmistakably Country Road.

In a fast-paced retail environment, you'll balance long-term vision with the agility to respond to customer insights, emerging trends and market opportunities. You'll be comfortable embracing change, moving quickly when needed and helping us bring great product to market with speed and purpose.

This role also offers opportunities to travel internationally, partnering with suppliers, factories and key markets to support product development and strengthen our global design perspective.

How you will contribute

• Lead the creative direction for tailoring categories, translating trends and customer insights into desirable and commercially successful collections.
• Create elevated products with exceptional fit, construction, fabrication and finish.
• Build cohesive ranges across colour, fabric, texture and silhouette that reflect the Country Road aesthetic.
• Partner with Design, Buying, Planning, tech Design and Product Development to deliver ranges that balance creativity, customer appeal and commercial outcomes.
• Respond quickly to emerging trends and customer needs, helping drive speed to market while maintaining brand integrity.
• Navigate a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting priorities and identifying opportunities to keep collections relevant and competitive.
• Source fabrics, trims and materials that reflect our quality standards and design vision.
• Lead fittings, product reviews and supplier collaborations to ensure design integrity through to production.
• Use customer, market and sales insights to refine collections and identify future opportunities.
• Lead, coach and mentor Designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Capabilities we value

• Proven experience as a Senior Designer or Design Leader, with specialist expertise in tailoring.
• Deep technical knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabrication, pattern development and finishing.
• A refined design aesthetic and the ability to create product that is relevant, elevated and commercially successful.
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept through to production.
• Commercial acumen and an appreciation of how customer behaviour, creativity and business performance intersect.
• Experience working with Buyers.
• Experience working with international suppliers and factory partners.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to influence and build strong relationships across functions.
• Strong leadership capability with a passion for developing creative talent.
• Resilience, adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment.
