Yard & Fleet Assistant

KMH, a subsidiary of SSH Group, is looking for a reliable and hands-on Yard & Fleet Assistant to join our Belmont based team!

At KMH we specialise in delivering equipment and workforce solutions to our clients and their projects, ensuring our services are delivered efficiently, safely, and on schedule.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with light vehicles, warehouse and yard operations, and supporting the preparation of vehicles and equipment for construction, civil and mining projects. Under the direction of our Asset Manager, you’ll take pride in keeping vehicles clean, maintained and work-ready, while ensuring the warehouse and yard remain organised, safe and efficient.

What You'll Be Doing

• Wash, clean and detail light vehicles to site and company standards
• Prepare vehicles for mobilisation, on-hire and off-hire
• Complete vehicle inspections and report defects, damage or maintenance needs
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance, fluid checks and minor repairs
• Refuel vehicles and complete routine fleet checks
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe yard, warehouse and washdown area
• Assist with stock control, parts, tools and consumables
• Deliver and collect vehicles, parts and equipment as required
• Maintain accurate fleet, maintenance and inspection records

What You'll Bring

• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
• Forklift / High Risk Work Licence – highly desirable
• HR, HC or MC Driver’s Licence – desirable
• Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, workshop or light vehicle/fleet environment
• Basic mechanical knowledge and confidence using hand and power tools
• Ability to perform vehicle checks, minor maintenance and general fleet preparation
• Strong safety awareness and ability to undertake physical, hands-on work
• Reliable, organised and proactive approach to work
