Georgiana Molloy Anglican School
About the role
0.60FTE – 1.0FTE | Permanent | Commencing 2027
Great English Teachers do more than teach a text. They start conversations. They challenge perspectives. They help young people find their voice, articulate an argument and discover that the right book, idea or piece of writing can stay with them long after they leave the classroom.
If that sounds like the way you approach teaching English, we would love to hear from you.
Georgiana Molloy Anglican School (GMAS) is looking for Secondary English Teachers to join our team in 2027, with opportunities available from 0.60FTE through to 1.0FTE.
We are deliberately keeping the FTE flexible because we are interested in finding the right teachers and exploring what may work for both you and our School.
What could your role look like?
Depending on your experience, interests and preferred FTE, you may teach English across Years 7 to Year 12, working with students at different stages of their development as readers, writers, critical thinkers and communicators.
For an experienced Secondary Teacher, there is also the opportunity to bring your expertise to our ATAR English program.
At GMAS, we are looking for teachers who know their subject, enjoy working with young people and bring energy, creativity and purpose to their classroom.
You might be the teacher who loves unpacking a complex text.
The teacher who can get a reluctant writer to finally put pen to paper.
The teacher who enjoys a great classroom debate.
Or the teacher who gets just as excited about a beautifully constructed argument as the student who wrote it.
More importantly, we're looking for someone who:
genuinely loves teaching English;
builds strong relationships with students;
creates a classroom where students feel safe to question, contribute and take intellectual risks;
understands that excellent teaching combines strong subject knowledge with knowing the learner in front of you;
enjoys collaborating with colleagues and sharing ideas;
brings enthusiasm, professionalism and a sense of possibility to their teaching; and
wants to contribute to the wider life of a school community.
A little about us
GMAS is a Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 Anglican School located in Busselton, in Western Australia's beautiful South West.
Our teachers are encouraged to bring their expertise, ideas and individuality to their classrooms while working collaboratively to create engaging, evidence-informed learning experiences.
We value strong relationships, high expectations, student wellbeing and teaching that helps every young person achieve their potential.
Interested? Tell us your story.
Rather than trying to fit yourself neatly into a vacancy, send us an application telling us about you as an English Teacher.
Tell us:
the year levels and English courses you have taught;
the areas of English you most enjoy teaching;
your Senior Secondary and/or ATAR teaching experience, if applicable; and
your preferred FTE—whether that’s 0.60 FTE, 0.80 FTE, 1.0 FTE or somewhere in between.
Please also include a current curriculum vitae.
Applications must be submitted via the Georgiana Molloy Anglican School Careers Page [https://www.gmas.wa.edu.au/careers].
Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, current Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia registration, a Working with Children Check and satisfy the School's screening and clearance requirements.
If you're an experienced English Teacher considering a change for 2027, we'd genuinely like to hear from you.
Applications close: Monday 8.00am 7 September 2026
Georgiana Molloy Anglican School is a child-safe environment. We actively promote the safety and wellbeing of all students, and all staff are expected to share our commitment to protecting children and young people from harm.
GMAS is an Anglican School, and applicants are expected to demonstrate empathy with and support for the School's Anglican ethos.
