AWAHS has a proud reputation for delivering holistic healthcare to our community on the Border for many years. You will be involved in a variety of family medicine including triage, health assessments, chronic disease care, preventative care and supporting patients through their healthcare journey. Working alongside GPs, nurses and a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will play an important role in care planning, referrals, procedures, wound care and health promotion

The Role
We are looking for a motivated and community-focused Practice Nurse (RN) to join the AWAHS team full-time for a 12-month contract, with the potential to extend.

In this role you will:

Be the first point of support for clients, coordinating urgent GP appointments and managing waitlists with empathy and professionalism
Work collaboratively with GPs, allied health and external providers to ensure clients receive seamless, quality care
Provide hands-on nursing support including wound care, diagnostic procedures, chronic disease management and health assessments
Assist with medication management and initial emergency presentations
Support health promotion and preventative programs across all ages, from children to Elders

What We Are Looking For
We would love to hear from you if you are:

An AHPRA Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years community practice experience with strong clinical experience
Skilled in wound management, chronic disease care and health assessments
Experienced and confident in diagnostic procedures and minor interventions
Accredited Nurse Immuniser (or prepared to obtain)
Passionate about health promotion, prevention and community wellbeing
Able to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment where collaboration matters
Strong interpersonal skills, integrity and excellent time management
Understanding of health issues impacting Aboriginal people
A current Working with Children Check and Driver’s Licence
A willingness to obtain a satisfactory Police Check
