Join Kaynar Group as a Broome-based Heavy Road Transport Mechanic, supporting the maintenance and reliability of a busy heavy road transport fleet.
We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated mechanic who can manage their own workload, proactively identify defects and complete maintenance as fleet vehicles become available.

• Predominantly Monday to Friday on a 5/2 roster, with occasional Monday-to-Saturday work on a 6/1 roster.

About the Role
You will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing a heavy road transport fleet within a client-operated environment in Broome.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can work independently, manage changing priorities and identify required maintenance as vehicles become available.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Servicing, diagnosing and repairing road trains, prime movers, trailers and ancillary equipment.
• Conducting inspections to identify defects and required maintenance.
• Planning and managing your daily workload with minimal supervision.
• Coordinating maintenance around equipment availability and operational requirements.
• Ordering parts and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
• Completing regular stocktakes.
• Maintaining accurate service, repair and parts records.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A recognised Heavy Road Transport or Heavy Commercial Vehicle trade qualification.
• Demonstrated experience servicing and repairing road trains, prime movers and trailers.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• The ability to manage your workload and work with minimal supervision.
• A proactive approach to identifying defects and required maintenance.
• Good organisational skills, including experience with parts ordering and stock management.
• A current Australian Driver’s Licence, with an HR or higher licence highly desirable.
• Current Australian working rights.

This opportunity is suited to candidates currently living in Broome and/or willing to relocate to Broome. Please note, this is not a FIFO position.
